William Cooke, MD
Medical Director
William E. Cooke, MD, FAAFP, FASAM, is a nationally recognized family and addiction medicine physician and a longtime partner of Ascension Recovery Services in Iowa, working with the organization from its first Iowa facility through Iowa City and now Cedar Falls. His work has focused on transforming how communities respond to addiction by combining evidence-based treatment with dignity, compassion, and strong human relationships. Dr. Cooke is a Fellow of both the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians. His honors include the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians' Family Physician of the Year, the Indiana State Health Commissioner's Award for Exceptional Public Health Service, and the Addiction Policy Forum's inaugural Physician Pillar of Excellence Award. He is also the author of Canary in the Coal Mine, which chronicles his community's response to addiction, HIV, and the conditions that shape health and recovery. At the heart of Dr. Cooke's work is the belief that there is something beautiful in every person, and that recovery begins when we build the relationships, remove the barriers, and create the conditions that allow that person to emerge.

Clinical Director
Nancy Lindler is the Clinical Director at Renewal Falls, a residential treatment center in Cedar Falls serving adults with substance use and mental health disorders. She is a seasoned Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 20 years of experience in direct clinical care and administration. Nancy specializes in holistic, patient-centered care and treatment process improvement. She believes deeply in the possibility of true healing and transformative change for individuals navigating addiction and mental health challenges. Her professional passions include clinical supervision, personal and professional growth, and supporting the development of both clinicians and clients. Nancy strives to bring a deep, embodied, and authentic presence to every therapeutic setting. She is committed to creating environments where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to engage in meaningful healing and lasting change.

Amanda Zhorne
Business Development
Amanda Zhorne brings a background in community relations, business development, and community development through her work with Barnes & Noble, Palmer Group, and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. Inspired by seeing the impact behavioral health has on so many people around her, she is passionate about helping connect individuals with the resources they need. She finds the greatest reward in knowing she can play a small part in helping someone find a healthier, brighter path forward. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their three sons, Gage, Jeremiah, and Chauncey, and is actively involved in community and nonprofit initiatives throughout the community.
